My final designs are built by combining different ideas from previous BTS album designs and current trends in graphic design.
In KPOP it is very popular to include different concepts in 1 release. Some albums would have 4 or more versions. I wanted to assimilate that in this project.
The 'dark' concept of my design combines the color schemes of BTS's albums 'PROOF' and "HYYH pt.2" with the shapes used in their promotional material for the album 'BUTTER'. Using these as the base of my design I implemented different trends like 3D Metallic shapes, 90s nostalgia, neon glow and noise to achieve a cohesive, but different final result.
Similarly the 'light' concept includes the gradient and color scheme from 'LY: ANSWER' with trends like sparkles, simple shapes and groovy text. I was aiming for a more ethereal feel than the previous concept.
The most important thing for me was to combine elements from a bigger part of the group's discography as a way to remember the 9 years of music they've produced.
